Orrick has cut around 90 lawyer and staff roles and delayed some incoming lawyers’ start dates, according to Bloomberg Law.
The measures followed a review of staffing needs and affected both lawyers and business-services staff. Some incoming recruits were also told that their start dates would be pushed back.
The move combined reductions in existing positions with changes to planned hiring, affecting current staff as well as future joiners.
